I just saw this on the news. How the hell do people do this? Apparently the mother was also in the house while the kid was PLAYING with the gun.

Incoming anti-gun people.

anyone who isn't smart enough to keep their guns out of reach of children shouldn't be allowed to have guns

coming from australia where only like 5% of people actually own guns the whole american system seems a bit silly

No parent should have a gun unless they have a safe place to keep it.

This, especially if you have a child. IF you don't have a gun case or anything than put it on a high shelf or something.

put it on a high shelf or something.
i dont think that's good enough myself

in my books it's either a secure locked cabinet or you shouldn't be able to own them. kids are crafty, a high shelf isn't something you risk a life on.

It's sad and pathetic on the mothers side. How does a parent let the child play with a gun?!

The only problem with locked cases I have is that if someone breaks in you don't want to be fumbling for your keys to get the gun.

fumbling for my keys vs my child shooting itself

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

"Maybe if he shoots himself he'll never touch them again!!!"

I was looking at the point of view of not having a child.
