Author Topic: Silk Road shut down, owner and operator arrested.  (Read 3582 times)

I have a friend who's probably not gonna receive his shipment now, lol
It depends if he finalized or not, and it also depends if the seller was smart enough to cash out his bitcoins or honor the purchase if they weren't.

oh god. we had a group discussion about this in class trying to figure out why the postal service doesn't check for that kind of stuff in the mail...
They do. Retailers make an effort to hide the content of the package, for example shipping fake IDs within a playing card deck, shipping marijuana with other organic material, shipping MDMA pills inside advil containers, selling LSD sheets hidden within two pages in a notebook, etc.

Short of opening every piece of mail that goes through the post office and searching it, there's no way to find all of these drugs. They do find some, however.

seems my point is still very valid. I mean all the dark web sites are getting busted over time here.
no matter how safe tor could be, that's isn't the makeup of a persons internet use or computer use. agencies will find them all.
there is no way to hide on the internet.
I would argue it's possible if someone were to operate only and entirely through tor, using the internet for nothing other than operating their site. If this person were to never type identifying information into any computer ever, and only access the internet using public internet hotspots, in theory they could remain undetected. However, this is nearly impossible for most internet users.

Also, the user mentioned in the article that DPR wanted dead is confirmed dead.

Quote
A user called "redandwhite" then proceeded to contact DPR, stating that he was FriendlyChemist's supplier and also the owner of his debt. DPR then solicited redandwhite to "execute" FriendlyChemist, supplying redandwhite his full name and address. After having agreed on terms, DPR sent redandwhite approximately $150,000USD (1,670BTC) to have FriendlyChemist killed. redandwhite later provided photographic proof of the alleged murder.

After the first series of arrests and such, you'd think the operator of silk road would know to take a break.

Also, the user mentioned in the article that DPR wanted dead is confirmed dead.

Since DPR claimed to have paid $80,000 for the hit, I find it difficult to believe anything that quote says.

150k lol.

its easier and safer and wayyyy cheaper to get hitman elsewhere. using the net Lol. how silly

Hitmen actually exist on the internet?

I always assumed they were just scams.
Cause I mean, if he doesn't deliver, what can you do?

it doesn't matter what the coins are worth. that doesn't even slightly reflect the spending power or usefulness.

they would go up if they are more popular and more people use them.

but 100 dollars worth of cash will still get you 100 dollars worth of bit coins that can still only buy you 100 dollars worth of product.

you have been fooled into thinking tpeople are using it as a savings account or investment.
I'm sure they would love people to think that, it covers up the fact that its for illegal trading.

notice the only people on the net thinking its a real money and a real investment are children.
the real holders are buying drugs and guns and child research.

i remember my friend and i were talking about bit coins once
i'm very surprised they're used for this kind of activity

i'd think it's kind of to be expected for them to be used this way, really
