Author Topic: How to make a decent, realistic looking day cycle?  (Read 1635 times)

I don't seem to find much about day cycles except for one tutorial which didn't go into enough detail for me but was somewhat helpful (http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=204914.0). Anyone have any sort of extra help to making a great, dynamic looking day cycle?

Look at timelapse videos and make the colors look just right. Lots of trial and error.

Right now, the day cycle is looking pretty well in my opinion, but during the day, for some weird reason everything has a greenish tint and I didn't make the cycle have a green tint. Shaders seem to help, but it's still tinted green where direct light should shine. Pictures are attached. Some sample code is also included below.
Code: [Select]
//Noon

FRACTION 0.25
DIRECTCOLOR 0.8 0.8 0.8 1.0
AMBIENTCOLOR 0.6, 0.6, 0.6 1.0
SKYCOLOR 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0
FOGCOLOR 0.7 0.7 0.7 1.0
SHADOWCOLOR 0.35 0.35 0.35 1.0
SUNFLARECOLOR 0.7 0.7 0.7 1.0

I bet those are messing up things.

I can't believe I didn't see those commas. Anyways, the green tint issue is now gone so I can continue work on the day cycle.
