If I make the lanes much wider than pedestrians won't really have anywhere to walk. Sidewalks IRL are at least two people-widths wide, and two people-widths in Blockland is six studs.

Make the road brick itself larger.

dotted lines show where you are allowed to switch into the next lane, they aren't there for decoration.

If you want a challenge, make it a print brick and that's the part that changes. The default print, which you could enforce with script, would be the blank print. Then include an asphalt print with the add-on.
