Author Topic: Only some people can join my server  (Read 3949 times)

As the title says, only a few people can join my server. To others its good as dead.
I don't have a clue on how to fix this, I don't think its ports if some people can join

Your server is currently relying on UPnP, which sometimes does not work properly. You need to forward your ports. There are lots of tutorials lying around, or you can do a Google search.

You will need port 28000.

edit: Port 28000 is the default, but you can check your port number in the Advanced tab of the Start Game menu if needed.

Does the Port number matter? I've always used 28000 and had no luck at all.

Is this right?

1. Press windows+R
2. Type "cmd" and hit enter
3. Enter "ipconfig" into the command prompt
4. Verify your local IP is 192.168.2.4 (what it is on the forwarding page)

This might help.

I'm not seeing a local IP spot. I see a "IPv4 address" and "IPv6 address"

It would be the IPv4 address.

In that case its right.
Are the ports right?

With the server closed, navigate to "config/server". Open prefs.cs, find the line called $Pref::Server::Port, and make sure that the value is 28000.

K, thats set correctly.
Anything else?

No modify.

So, I tested my ports and more people could join but it was still blocking out people.

Try making an exception in Advanced Firewall for that port.
