Author Topic: Some servers have a --- ping and I can't join but others can?  (Read 2017 times)

Hello, for a strange reason some servers have a --- ping, even when I know they have no errors, and others can join them.
It's an unusual glitch I've had for a while.
It either says 'Connecting to whatever ip" or "sending punch packet" repeatedly.
Please help, I don't believe a console.log could help.

Pecon's IP ban mod, or any IP ban from a server will cause what you described. It can also be a problem with your internet, but it's more likely to be an IP ban.

um
I'm not sure that's related at all. I've had this too, but I never really thought about it.

Nope that's not it I don't have an IP ban mod and I have --- and some people can't join it

Nono, what I was saying is that if you are IP banned from a server, it will do exactly what Setro described, send endless punch packets without ever connecting. Nerd, your problem is not related to this, it sounds like you are having the problem where some people can't join due to the --- ping, I have had the same problem. For some reason, some people cannot not connect if there is a --- ping, even if the server can be connected to by other people. I'm not sure why this is, I've never been able to find a common cause.

noedit: I said cannot not lol.

This can be caused by the server using UPnP instead of port forwarding.

I doubt I'm IP banned, I tried to join Ravencroft's server once and had the issue, so I rtb'd and he told me he would ask cowboy22 or whoever.
Also, some of the servers I haven't even visited before have this issue. Some of the host's in which I had this issue were irc'd by me and they told me various stuff like restarting blockland, and never told me I was banned. But, that is a possibility, and I will ask more of them, thanks.
