Author Topic: Good DOSgames?  (Read 1042 times)

I just started exploring the gaming world of dos using dosbox. I've been shuffling through rubbish though, any good games? Like a survival horror or something.

I've only ever played I.M. Meen (purely ironically, I swear) and Daggerfall on DOS, so I don't really have much input to, well, input.

I would suggest playing Arena and Daggerfall if you like RPGs or Oblivion/Skyrim, despite the latter's mass of glitches. It's apparently still playable, but I've had awful experience, probably from save hacking. Also, the Doom series might be fun if you've yet to play it. I think those are the obvious ones, though.

Rise of the Triad
System Shock
Commander Keen
the aforementioned Descent
X-Wing

Doom. Has a lot of custom levels by players, too. Doomworld has a fat archive full of them.

Also Scorched Earth. It's one of the first (maybe the first ever) tank games.
