Author Topic: Feds Try to Close the Ocean Because of the Government Shutdown  (Read 4861 times)

to have a few rangers guarding the entrances costs less than it takes to have people patrolling the entire park
How about 0 rangers guarding the entrances? It's a shutdown, not a shut-out.

Gov is probably trying to trap us all in and make us pay for their forget up.

the government is pretty much curled into a ball at this point until the big bad bear goes away

It costs more money to pay the rangers to barricade the parks and keep people away than it would to just run it normally and let people through. That's why this is handicapped

As far as I can tell, there's no reason for it. People are just throwing a fit so they're closing everything and its brother. Even open memorials, like in the middle of malls, are being closed.

They aren't getting payed at all lol

More publicity for what exactly? Are you sure they're not closing them because they don't have enough park rangers to fully staff the places and watch them? But really what are they getting publicity for?
Publicity as in more people complaining. Do you REALLY THINK that they had "Rangers" posted at the memorials and a small patch of water? No. In fact, people are now working at those places BECAUSE of the shut down lol. At the memorials, no one worked there. Its just a path. Now they have to spend money to make barricades to stop veterans (Who could be on the last leg of their life) to pay respects to their buddies. Its all publicity for the media, which, incase you haven't been abled to tell recently, leans heavily towards the left ;)

You can't walk in the forest without government with you.

Breaking news, the US Government is now trying to close the atmosphere. It will cost several billion dollars to lock out every oxygen molecule. This could mean asphyxiation for over a billion people!

You are the funniest person I have ever met, you know that? All of your jokes make me laugh. And with the recent "link" I clicked, I laughed harder than anyone I ever known has laughed in my life.

Fixed
Actually you're wrong. The government of Iceland is one of the better governments, and Finland is superb.

I really don't think this is some liberal media conspiracy. What you're saying makes like no sense at all. Are you telling me it's only the liberals that are to blame for this? Are the liberals forcing park rangers to go work there? Some of the stuff people believe blows my mind.

No. I never said that at all lol. Im just saying that the media is making it seem like the Republicans' fault (Which Im sure you believe) and that the Republicans are preventing the Democrats from finding a solution. And no, its BOTH parties that are to blame. They are BOTH keeping each other from getting stuff done. Not one side or the other, both equally. And the liberals aren't forcing them to work there. The fact that the government shut down "requires" memorials and stuff to be closed is causing more people to be protecting barriers and stuff. Stop trying to put words into peoples' mouths. Honestly xD
"Some of the stuff people believe blows my mind"
Im done with this conversation. You don't have to respond to this argument, I don't feel like going on with this, and Im sure no one in this thread wants to read it either.

On a positive note; US National Parks are free.  :cookieMonster:

i just think this whole national park closing thing is so stupid. my dad was down in Arizona on a business trip and before he came back he wanted to see the grand canyon. but no, its a national park so he didn't get to see it.
The U.S. government doesn't own the entire canyon dumbass. Your father could have seen it.

Edit: Maybe he couldn't have hiked it, but based on what you said I assumed he was going to take a quick excursion out there.
