oh what we're supposed to make each other math questions?
ooo

ok how about this one

a4 - 5a3 - 13a2 + 10
--------------------
         a + 1

solve it using synthetic division.

uhhhh uhhh uhhh...

what is synthetic division?

good luck with that LOL

what type of high school math level are you in?

solve it using synthetic division.
make them do it with long division, synthetic doesn't lead to true understanding of the operation

this is like basic precalc/algebra II

good luck with that LOL
I'm in Advanced Algebra Honors (Algebra 2.5, pretty much) and I've never heard of synthetic division. Ever.

what type of high school math level are you in?
it's intermediate alegbra II (honors),

and btw this website seems to explain it sort of well

http://www.purplemath.com/modules/synthdiv.htm

and yes that problem is my homework but i did it already

my school teaches calculus
is that normal?

If a tree falls in the forest does it scream in agony???

my school teaches calculus
is that normal?
yes, we have level II AP Calc at my high school

good luck with that LOL
???

Ok, so its synthetic division is a method of performing polynomial long division, with less writing and fewer calculations
my school teaches calculus
is that normal?
why wouldnt it be?

what is synthetic division?
I actually learned that before learning functions.

f(x) = 3x + 4

f(9) =
are you stupid, just plug in the god damn 9

???

yeah pretty much
it's weird and i'd never heard of it until about 3 hours ago in fifth period.

Huh I never have done it.
I always keep my math notebooks and such as a quick reminder incase I forget anything.

I learn more advanced stuff like this but I wanted to see if others knew it. No need to be mean.
