After a lot of time of looking through videos and talking to friends, I want to ask this to you guys:
/title
One thing that brought this up are the Emergency Alert Systems for both of us are really different.
For example, in a nutshell:
Japan when you see the alerts on television: A emergency is currently happening in a location. Do not panic, remain calm.
However, with AMERICA and alerts: YOU'RE GOING TO DIE WAKE UP GET THE forget UP OUT OF THE HOUSE NOW EVACUATE WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO
I just don't get that. We act like if emergencies like thunderstorms are going to be the end of humanity as we know it. What's the purpose of having severely loud alerts when we could have peaceful alerts like Japan?
Don't believe me? Compare this
Japanese alert and this
American alert and tell me the difference.
The second thing is we panic more when there are things like earthquakes and other weather hazards happen. However, in Japan, they are prepared. During March the 13th, 2011, a place in Japan had a Tsunami wall and sirens, and knew exactly what do in case of the emergency.
Why isn't America more calm like this? I think it's unnecessary to have VOL [||||||||||||||||] - 100 noises almost causing us to crash on the highway because of an AMBER ALERT.
