Author Topic: I want to make a Deadpool costume, can anyone help me?  (Read 1789 times)

Hey guys, I've checked the Deadpool costumes you can buy online, the only impressive ones are $200 and up, and the 40 dollar ones are kinda stuffty.

I've never touched a sewing machine and know nothing about making costumes, but I've always wanted to, I decided that I'd like to make a Deadpool costume for a halloween party and possibly some cons in the upcoming months. What should I know about doing this? What kind of materials should I use?
Can anyone who knows a lot about this topic drop some knowledge on me?

this is probably a bad idea but for the actual body suit, get a red one and spray paint the colors on using duct tape to be specific about areas you want painted

personally I don't think spray paint works well on cloth, depending on how strong it goes on and how much there is... Personally I've never spray painted a shirt, so I wouldn't know. You can actually DYE a shirt fairly easily using regular paint and tape, through some fairly simple processes, one girl actually did a speech about it during a class in my Speech I class.

Red morph suit, buy dual katanas off of Truesword.com, dye the red morph suit with appropriate colors, use tape to make sharp/crisp edges, buy a big leather belt and put random pouches on it (bonus points, fill pouches with candy / fun stuff), etc.

All I can think of

Deadpool's costume is like- 100% cloth. If you don't have any clue how to sow or anything like that, I doubt you'll be able to make anything even as good as the 40$ one's on your first try. I know I wouldn't be able to
