You can upgrade it but it won't work for half a damn.

xp had a recommended ram requirement of like 512m i believe.
and im guessing here, a cpu recommended of perhaps a singlecore (all that existed then) 2.0ghz

hardware good for xp should not, CAN NOT run windows 7 and 8 lol

Just because thats the required hardware doesn't mean thats what it has, high end gaming PCs used to use windows XP up until they quit support on it.

these are school computers. they likely would only ever have average hardware in their day.
these are bulk buys. nothing special.

The only thing new at my school, is the web blocking system, but i still got passed it B)

The thing is, you don't know that. As far as we know they have some damn good computers.

Funny because you can pass the filter easily.

Simply upgrading the OS does not improve performance.
Actually it does

Aside from the cruddy dells with Windows XP, we have i7's with 8GB of RAM,  some GPU, and Windows 7.

near the end of last year, all of the computers at my middle school had updated monitors, but were still XP. Now all the computers at my high school have windows 7, new monitors, new everything.

My district just spent tens of thousands of dollars to update all their computers from like Windows 1999 to Windows 7, and it is now worse than before!! (Yay!!!)

ew novell
My school has that

All my school computers with Windows 7 also have Sketchup, Photoshop, After Effects, and some other expensive programs

And we never use any of them for anything
you are MAKING ME CRY

My school has all dell computers and really old flatscreen monitors that are 800x600

I have no idea how they even run windows xp because they all have 256mb of ram

they're also huge as hell

The thing is, you don't know that. As far as we know they have some damn good computers.

They're Dell computers, I haven't checked the specs in a while so I forgot them. They run faster than all the macs we have in the print shop/graphic arts class, though.
