Author Topic: JVS Functioning for admins only?  (Read 1091 times)

Let me clarify, after a certain update (I don't know which), JVS has stopped functioning for non-admin players. When you place it down as a non-admin, it will plant as a solid brick and give an error message, saying certain JVS events are for admins only and when you try and click/open the content, it will stay open as if it were stuck. This only occures to non-admins and when an admin tries it works perfectly fine. I've seen this happen across several servers and was looking for a discussion and hopefully a fix to the problem.

...make it not admin only?

except it doesn't.

i've used jvs across many servers and it's just fine. stop playing family rps and freebuilds where the admins dont even know what they are doing.

Perhaps you wouldn't mind posting your JVS_Content file then? I'm sure that's what is messing up my server and several others.

You've got the JVS events in your restricted events list. Remove them from that and BINGO.

I have this problem, too.  I know what I'm doing.  This is broken in a lot of servers.

You didn't do anything wrong, trader did. He added a useless 1 at the end of registering the events, and ages after that the function got another argument, so now the 1 makes them admin-only. I've uploaded a quick fix here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/143512782/JVS_Content.zip

Thanks, I'll be sure to spread that download around for other players.

Woah, what?
So Support_AdminOnlyEvents is useless now?

No, it should work fine.  This just fixed the JVS doors.

it's default

it's default
Is it any different?

Is that why there's that /restrictedEvents thing?

Input events can now be made admin-only by default, output events can't (I think)
And that ugly /restrictedevents is from that add-on.

What is the name of the addon that restricts events
