Author Topic: Airplane/Airline Megathread - St Maarten for nicest landings (image heavy)  (Read 6724 times)

When driving to Kansas City on Thursday, I saw a B2 bomber. It was really cool, but creepy as well. It looked like a silent triangle floating through the air...
I saw one at a airshow once. It was pretty hard to spot since it's got such a small silhouette, and you don't even hear it until it's pretty much right over you.

Wow, great pictures Mikoyan.

Now for one of my favorite planes:

Good ol' 172.

A spaceship

I sat in the pilot seat of that plane. I have picture proof I can post if you want :)

Also Muslin, that is a great plane, the C-172. One of my favorites! I have flown in one of those a great many times. Very safe plane and always fun!

Oh my god. I have to see that SailorMan!

C-172 is great. I can't really afford flight school now, but as soon as I can I am going.

I suggest that you join the Civil Air Patrol, its the Air Force Auxiliary. A lot of great aviation experiences. I have had many free hours of flight in a C-172 and 182. Also Im planning on doing a solo flight with them this summer coming up (Which is for a ridiculously cheap price). If you are interested in more info on the program, PM me. I can tell you a lot about it. Im addicted to the program. I cant wait for every Tuesday night to come around for meets, activities, and week long encampments, etc lol.

lol safer than a car
less accidents than cars =/= safer than cars
cars can protect people from flips and other wrecks of all kinds. a plane doing most of this would kill most if not all of its crew and passengers

This was me like 2 years ago in the Shuttle Carrier (I look completely different now lol). You cant really see but on the yoke it said Shuttle Carrier and NASA. Note the old instruments on this thing, its an old version of a 747 that requires 3 people.

Right before I got to fly in an LC-130 for an hour long flight

Engines of LC-130 during flight.

roosterpit of LC-130

Us waiting to go inside a C-17 (I got to sit in the co pilot seat and look through the HUD c:)

airplane food, even the smell, makes me want to throw up
How about that airline food?
;D

Sailorman, where do you even get to do this stuff? How?

Personally, I think airline salty roasted peanuts are amazing. Also, nothing better than sipping on a coke at 30,000 feet.

best passenger jet ever made ^^^

I wish I could fly on virgin. My family always picks united, which I absolutely hate. They show terrible movies, only serve actual food to first class, and are overall hated by everyone. But If I try to get my parents to pick another airline, I usually get the "you take what you get" speech, or just get told that if I don't like the airline, I don't have to go on vacation.

Depends where you fly.
Doesn't fly to most places, only big cities.
And if you're flying to a big city, Virgin is typically much cheaper.

That's really cool. How do you get these awesome opportunities?

Concorde is a great jet. There's a group wanting to bring it back.
