op is pretty stupid imo
he can't even name the real price

It was made to be "kid proof", as they got rid of the clamshell design so it doesn't break as easily, it's made of a different plastic, and they got rid of the 3D because it gave kids headaches.

It's also a cheaper alternative for a parent.

i've been considering getting a 2ds eventually tbh
i don't think i'd care enough about the 3d to get an actual 3ds, and i actually like the wedge shape, it just looks neat to me

God damn, half the people in this thread are idiots
The 2DS is meant to be an entry level system for kids and also a cheap alternative to the 3ds. The lack of 3D makes it cheaper, and its slate design makes it hard for kids to sit on it and snap it in half. I think the design makes it a bit cheaper as well.

My god, are some of you prejudice. This topic is unnecessary. It was already discussed in the Nintendo Megathread. Get over the device. Don't like it, don't buy it.

Tired of it? Stop looking at the threads

i would've gotten the 2ds actually if i wouldn't have already gotten a 3ds just cause its cheaper and i really dont use the 3d

if i were to choose between a 3ds and 2ds of course i'd pick the 2ds as would anyone else with some sense, there's no reason not to and all the $30-$50 saved to do so

You have to pay around 200 dollars for it anyways
this isn't true
... well i guess it depends on your definition of "around 200 dollars" but

The 3D feature on the 3DS is stupid and an overpriced gimmick. The hell with the 3DS.

Excuse me? These type of comments on the nintendo 2ds have already been stated and taken care of. There was no need for this topic.

so just ignore it?
there's no need for lots of topics either but we still have them

the only reason it has no hinge is that kids can't break the hinge
i guess

Looks to me as if Nintendo is trying out a different design. Not half bad, however I would get the 3DS.
