so much bandwagon, if you hate it so much then don't use it.
it's really just a slightly faster windows 7 with a tablet-like screen added to it, i don't see why so much people hate it.
all those news sites that say windows 8 is incompatible with everything in existence is all bullstuff. i can run steam. i can play games, hell i can even play portal 2 and garry's mod. so stop your complaining.
Well Blizzard, Valve, Notch, and other game stated that Win8 was bad for pc gaming. Doesn't seem that way for now, but somewhere down the line in the future Windows Operating systems might end up being a closed system with no 3rd party software allowed or do something to make it unpopular. A majority of the desktop users are pc gamers since the decline in their use do to tablets and smart phones so they will have to compete with the Steam OS, Linux, and Apple in PC gaming.
2nd Issue regarding the start button is that they said that no used, apparently a lot of people used it and complained about it. So now it back(assuming that it lacks like the old and not some giant middle finger that takes you to metro). Nothing wrong with having more than one way to access something on a computer. People can have opinions all they want, a world without negative criticism would only bring in more stuffty products. All successful products are from companies that listen to the feed back of their customers. Look at some the companies that were successful at some point, but failed either because someone made something better than their product or didn't listen to feedback.
The third issue that I have with is that Windows 8 is just 7, but in tablet form with some slightly faster start up speeds. Not enough features to justify it's existence at this current time. Maybe in ten to fifteen year when tablets become more mainstream could you justify it's existence. Other than that, it is just a gimmick to appeal to the tablet hipsters and apple fanboys. I have seen touch screen monitors, and I find them impractical when a keyboard and mouse are just as good. Imagine trying to type an essay or playing a first person shooter with a touch screen in a vertical position, it would feel pretty awkward.
i still dont see why the expectation of pc use is apparently everyone will own touch screen monitors.
there is a reason its used on handheld devices, because our hands are already there. the fad for reaching across your desk every 2 seconds to do something will never catch on.
It will probably die in the next OS or when tablets become common place. Heck the only people I see defending Win8 are kids. I have yet to see an old timer who has been around since Windows 3.1 say that they like it.
