I went hunting without any weapons of any sort.  I ran out into the woods and hid.  Soon, I saw a huge 8-point buck.  It seemed to sniff something out of the ordinary, and looked in my direction.  It turned and walked the other way and I stealthily followed it.  Once I got close enough, I sprung out and ran after it.  I jumped and grabbed it by the antlers and dragged it to the ground.  I twisted it's head and broke it's neck.  I had venison that night.

^best hunting experience ever
I didn't know Chuck Norris played Blockland!

i once shot a raccoon in the ass with an airsoft gun and i felt bad afterwards even though it was stealing our garbage

yeah probably not killing an animal any time soon

I'm a vegetarian and 101% anti-hunting.

Im good with that. I mean, I disagree with your beliefs, but I get that you have different opinions than I do. Also, thanks for not coming in here and flaming like I expected somebody to do.

It's different if you are hunting because it's the way you need to get food. That's survival.

But hunting and killing innocent animals for fun or sport, I just don't get. I think it's sadistic and not entertaining.

i think it's great and everyone should shoot game for fun

I went hunting for the first time a few days ago. I killed a 120-150 LB buck spike. maybe about 2 years old? I shot it with a crossbow from about 35 yards

I also do squirrel hunting lol

I don't mind other people doing it, but I would never see me doing it any time soon.

aaaaah starting January 1st (I heard) they'll be allowing people to purchase crossbows. Currently you need to have a disability license in order to purchase a crossbow for hunting. It's especially nice because the price of a good crossbow is around the same for a good bow/gun.

I've always wanted to get into archery but have never taken the time/spent the money on a bow.

For a second there I thought the topic was named hurting experiences

Would be a more interesting thread.

I've always wanted to hunt with a bow or a crossbow
Silence counts, after all, unless you're hunting boar because those forgeters tend to charge at you for no reason

fishing is technically hunting,
i've caught loads of mackerel and fresh water roaches.

What state are you in?

On another note, my Primos Squirrel Buster call came today. I can't wait to see how it works in the woods. I am wondering, does a squirrel alarm, distress, or bark spook deer? I wouldn't think it would because they do it so much, but I want to be cautious.

Illinois

And as far as I know squirrel barks wont alert deer. Not sure about any other calls. I've had plenty of squirrels around barking and making tons of noise and still saw deer.
