Author Topic: I was stabbed by a pencil.  (Read 7282 times)

Oh my god, do people at your school have loving RAZOR SHARP pencils? Me and my friends stab each other with pencils all the time but it never, ever punctures the skin. Mechanical pencils aren't sharp and nobody uses wood pencils anymore (and even then, they're usually dull).
I use wood pencils

it's not lead
yeah it's not, but it's called lead in a non-literal way because that's just how we choose to continue naming it

it's not the only case of something being called a thing that doesn't actually make sense because it isn't technically that but it's called that anyway in the english language

for example, ringworm actually has to do with fungus

Bitch if pencils are that bad you have no idea what a knife would do

not a kitchen knife, an actual knife

nobody uses wood pencils anymore
I carry at least 8 regular wood pencils and 12 art pencils wherever I go (all in my pocket)

i prefer my magical wooden drafting pencils over mechanical

i only corrected him because he was using it in a medical context

i use a mechanical pencil (0.5mm, changed from .7mm a year ago) and typically dont like wooden pencils because they are wood

like im the kind of person who would forgo organics materials in favor of nonorganic materials in any circumstance apparently and that includes choice in writing utensils

wait do you even draw

i art regularly and i only use like 2 pencils and my finger what the forget

the context in that particular sentence suggests a common usage of the term

your interpretations of the grammar inside of debatable sentences are wrong!!

I stabbed myself two times with a pencil. Both accidental. The first was I stabbed myself at pretty much where my Right Lung was. But it only got through 1 layer of skin. It was not bleeding. It hurt like forget. I kinda had trouble breathing. But it healed and I can breathe normally. Yay.

Second one was I sharpened my pencil and wrote some stuff. Then, I grabbed my pencil. Then my friend accidentally kinda hit me, forcing the sharp as forget pencil to the skin between my left thumb and finger. It hurt like Hell and the blood was rushing. I went to the Nurse's office and she told me that I might have some graphite in my blood now that the graphite from the pencil touched the blood. But there were no problems. So it healed like in 1-3 weeks.

a common usage which is wrong in a medical context
not if the sentence is using it in a casual tone!!!!!!!!

my freshman, sophomore and junior years i tripped on an almost regular basis and never once even came close to stabbing myself with anything

how are you guys pulling this off

do you finger paint

i use it like a stub

you know to blur lines and push around the lead

do you finger paint
You use your finger to shade when using pencils.

They just do, I've only stabbed myself like maybe twice

not if the sentence is using it in a casual tone!!!!!!!!
that just means you're using the wrong tone, not that it's right in the wrong context lol
