we should start a new country under the same name and rules

instant zero debt B^)

im no expert here but why dont we just defund most of the military and start taxing the corporations like we do small business' and families?
While it may seem like a fix in the short term, adding taxes always creates repercussions. Usually, they are bad.

The simple truth is that we can't just fix our government by spending more and more money. Sure, some may be required, but that isn't what will solve the problem. The first step towards solving this problem is governmental and national realization that there is a problem, and that this problem won't fix itself; we need to take action ASAP.

"when i run out of money, i just make a new account and character"
if only it were that easy :panda:

why dont we just switch the entire country over to bitcoin :cookieMonster:

then we can pay off our national debt in low quality drugs and child research
it's brilliant

This is now the "1000 Ways to decrease the US National Debt" topic.

Keep trolling! It's so funny! ^_^ If you're not, well... I'm so sorry.

I say we raise the debt ceiling to 999 trillion. On a serious note we should fix that debt before it gets out of hand.

Let's just raise it to ∞ googolplex.

there is only 1.3 trillion usd in existence. that the entire world has and uses.

so needing 17t more is kind of ridiculous lol. even if we COULD repay it within 10 years based on economy alone, we dont even hold the existing money to change hands.

even if the budget was somehow balanced for the first time in 16 years right NOW. it would still take us over 100 years to pay off the debt.

obviously we intend to let it crash ;)
there is no reasonable way we would pay it back, even if we could we wouldnt.

i dont think people realize how dangerously close the world is to total economic collapse because of this lol.

this is not something that a balanced budget can fix. or that more debt ceiling raising can stall.
things WILL crash. they have been delaying it twice a year since the 70s and have been pretty good at it. but the problem grows exponentially, and we are further from solving it every time.
