About

Title says it, Dism is a game project. We're a few dudes who have decided to turn a juicy story into a video game with pixelated graphics with a modern soundtrack. We are aiming for a campaign that revolves entirely of a story of this universe, and after that's done, you will unlock several small campaigns along the way. Along with that, tons of other secrets would be implanted in this game, providing a massive amount of content. However, Dism is currently in development, and it'll probably stay like this for a while, but we're planning on releasing a playable demo soon enough.

Story and Gameplay

Dism's story evolves around an unknown time in the universe, however, only known fact that the humans didn't exist at the moment. Inside a planet called Wint, a race called humanovus was the current master race. The physical appearance of these was not too different from those of humans, however these people had far better comprehension, had a different organ system, and held powers that was beyond overpowered. The planet consisted of 6 lands, where Ina, the largest, was the capital. Humanovus did not need education, because their comprehension was out of this world, and they could understand things in the blink of an eye. For young people, there existed an academy inside Ina called Vehemon Academy, where the students that inhabited it were trained to someday become powerful mercenaries.

The story tells how 4 orphan and amnesiac protagonists save their planet from a massive threat, leaving their cheerful everyday life and entering dark memories of their past as they travel around the other 5 lands of Wint.

-~-

The gameplay in Dism primarily consists of a very classic platform shooter perspective. However, the variety of planned weapons, abilities, and levels is outstandingly innovative. From using your fists to beat up your enemies, to using basic and legendary firearms to blast away those in your way, or maybe driving a mech or even controlling 4 characters at once. This will be a blast.

either way, I decided to change my drawing style a bit by making the eyes look different. now instead of the eyes being dots or really small circles, they look more like actual eyes. So I decided to try them on Dism characters and well here it is

Right now there isn't a lot to see here on the media section of the OP, which is why I suggest you to visit the latest pages of the thread frequently whenever you'd like to see progress. Also since it is in early development, there isn't a lot to see, but there will be once it advances!

If you can help out with anything else, say so. Although, I'm not going to keep you on the list for just a half-assed attempt after you bashed my old one. If you can't help out with anything else I'll just remove you.

Also we're using Game Maker. If you can help out, that would be delightful.

will you pay me
hnnng i can't belieeeeeeve it
bushido you do not even know what you've done

I tried but I couldn't get the eyes to look right.

is that a yes
zay and i had a fairly long discussion about why a certain person we asked at one point about helping us then questioned us about how much we would pay for them to help.
which was actually something we hadn't even considered, we thought the project was so simple that people we asked would first consider "do i have the time and kindness in my heart to help these guys out (for nothing in return)??"

that's definitely not to say that you're a cruel person for asking; but no, this game isn't professional enough nor high enough of a priority on our lists for it to be worth paying anyone to help, it's just a sort of "want to practice your skills and be a totally cool person at the same time?" type thing.

being tongue-in-cheek is very hard over the internet i've learned

This seems like an awesome project!
