Are those talk bubbles dynamic or do they require an image for each one?
image for each one, but we'll shorten the amount of sprites by making a variety into one sprite as an animation

of course it won't animate, it'll stay the same at a desired frame, or else you'd have about 50 sentences flashing in a box

That HUD is terrible.  If you want it to stay in place instead of jittering around like that, just have it draw at view_xview and view_yview.  It looks like you have the HUD object just move to where the upper-left corner of the screen is; if you do that, you're just asking for trouble.

On another note, I really hope you're not planning to make every possible message its own unique sprite.  If you're using fixed-size message boxes, you really have no excuse to not just draw the message inside the box in real-time.

That HUD problem was fixed a while ago, and it isn't even done yet. Just look at one of my previous posts to see it fixed.

Also if we end up drawing the text inside the box, it'll look like stuff. When you try to draw text on GM it ends up looking really stuffty. It ends up pretty much unreadable with bad anti-aliasing if you set it to a desired small size.

Never been a problem for me.  For low-resolution games like this I usually stick with the "Small Fonts" font at size 6 or 7.  I guess you could try that and see if it fixes your problem.

Since finals are coming soon we haven't worked on Dism all that much. I'll be taking them next week, and hopefully by then we should be working on it a bit. Also Plastiware we'll try that out small fonts and all that dizzle.  But right now the least I can do is sprite some Isaac.

don't know what zay told you, but that's a little exaggerated.

i joined originally because i was interested in the group effort, not Dism specifically. since Dism became the primary and only focus of the project, i, over time, became less interested in the group.

Dism never became the focus of the group, Dism was always my focus, and I needed help, so I created the group

when I came to you I first talked to you about Dism, not about the group. If you didn't have any interest in it then I don't know why you joined.
