Author Topic: Remember Phonebloks? It might actually happen.  (Read 3640 times)

Except for the part that phneblocks wasn't a planned out thought. Several people explained why it is impossible. The link in OP is a different design in terms of technology, but same concept.
it was an idea, and it turned into something possible. that's kinda the point everyone was trying to make.

4 processors? er what
It's all modular. If whoever is designing the system doesn't half-ass it, you could add multiple processors and the system would be able to use them as if they were extra cores. (like upgrading a computer CPU from 2 to 4 cores)

it'd be easier, faster, and better to upgrade to a single cpu with 4 cores instead of 4 cpus with 1 core

4 CPUs with 4 cores each. Your phone will be so fast that you can make phone calls an hour before the person gets them.

Your phone will bend time itself

Pretty much. You could for example get 4 processors, the best screen you could possibly want, a huge battery and nothing else and just have your own little lasts-forever super-fast phone without anything silly like a camera or microphone and such.
>implying that the result would actually work

Even more bulky useless things on it! yay!
hey pal
did you just blow in from stupid town

Wasn't the main argument against this is that you can't take a board, slap different blocks onto it, and expect it to work, because the way things are so compactly built today is due to the fact that there's a proper place for all things?

Yes, I am. That's the whole point of the modular system, you can make whatever you want as long as you have all of the absolute essentials.

It would be awesome to connect more phones together for more storage and battery

the phone bloks guy is taking credit for an idea that Google and Motorola have already been working on for a year.

what i'm wondering like wtf

You guys should ignore Zeblote, all he's gonna do is stuff on the idea and thread.

For all we know he probably uses a phone made out of paper because he hates bulkiness that much.

OT: I myself love this idea, knowing Google-it should more than likely be a possibility.

R.I.P Iphone.
But it would be annoying if I were to carry or drop my phone and have the bloks detach.

You think that apple will give even a half stuff about this?

If, and this is a big chance, its successful and actually works, they will.
