Author Topic: The blockland future I would LOVE.  (Read 2433 times)

It would be awesome, That in 2014 some crazy physics would pop in.
Like water physics, Sort of string that flings all like ragdoll. Even those explosions
They would bring up an awesome emitter like in BF4, BF3. And if those funky
bricks in those tecnnic sets on 'LEGO' would come to blockland would be so cool.
Some people may say that those Technic bricks are basically events.
But then you can do cranes, Hydraulics, Etc. And the building would be some day/year
Without grids and squares. You can put the builds ANYWHERE. Like in Little Big Planet.
You can make your own squares, Wedges, Round bricks. And then with that building thing you can make cars, Spaceships go flying and those things.
This is what I would like in the future of blockland.
Some of these are not possible with the 'Torque Engine' if I am correct.
And would take ages to make. And if they don't even have the money to do it.

well there is garrys mod...

I think you may have missed the point of the block-based part of the building.

Well, let's go down the list:

"Crazy" Physics- We already have brick-based physics. Upgrading the experience would infringe on our fun.
"Awesome" Emitters- Would be pointless. Seriously, nobody wants to have giant detailed ass emitters shooting out of bricks.
"Technic" Bricks- This is why the Add-On system exists. Entirely possible via modification.
"ANYWHERE" building- This would make brick alignment a loving nightmare.
"Make Your Own" Bricks- Good news: you already can! The bad news is that you have to learn how BLBs work.
"Flying" Builds- While possible, entirely pointless. How would it know that your Fighter Jet isn't supposed to fly like a Magic Carpet?
"Not Possible" with Torque - Everything is possible with Torque. Holding this stance would mean Blockland couldn't exist: bricks themselves "aren't possible."

I feel like if we took a huge chunk of the modding community and all worked together on another engine or something, we could make a blockland with all the features that never existed, while still including the new features, and interiors

this would be amazing

10/10 would buy

I agree, maybe someone can gather a group of blockland's finest and make blockland do things it's never done before.

this'd be neat

oh my gosh, let's make it happen

someone should port TBM to T3D

edit:

Looked into Torque 3d, it is basically an extended version of the current Torque engine we have, it still allows pretty much everything that is currently in TGE
The only problem would be entirely re-writing the game to work with the new engine, AND re-writing part of the engine to allow for bricks

There is no point in asking badspot to port blockland to torque 3d

If you want a "new blockland," get some modders together for about 2 years and you might have something half decent.

:/ all I can say is it'll take time and effort.

yeah except that would never happen because people would get jelly over who gets credit and drama each other

also flaking is problem

It could be a success project though, it sounds like a magnificent idea.
