Yea, bought a mexican guitar, it's like half the size of a regular guitar, had to spend my money sometime. I was going to learn how to play the guitar next year and I'm gonna start now

is this instrument good for learning or do i need a more professional one

okay that's all the racism for one day sorry guys

searching on gi brings up this

mine is hand-made, and i guess it's a mariachi guitar but w/e

Is it an actual GUITAR, or is it just Mexican STYLE
A Mexican guitar really isn't any different from an acoustic, the primary difference is the strings and body (see ex.):

Regular acoustic:
fat body
steel strings

Mexican:
slim body, often times hand-painted w/ intricate designs
nylon strings (I think..)

edit:
Yes I saw purple's link, I wanted to just post the picture so people wouldn't have to click it to see.
IF that's what the guitar looks like, you just have an ACOUSTIC guitar with a MEXICAN style.
I took Guitar II with Guitar III honors students in highschool my junior year

when I googled it I got this:

I wanted to Photoshop a mariachi band, replace all their instruments with lawn mowers, and caption it "let me play you the song of my people"

but then I remember I don't have any adobe software to do that with

cs2 is free
Cs4 is hard enough to work with, cs2 sounds like a nightmare

How much did you pay for the guitar?
