it's tempting. it gets super hot here in aust for summer.

if i go with tiles it'll be great to keep it cool, but it might be too cold for my girlfriend in winter so i have to run that by her
Some nice glassy tile shouldn't be too expensive. You can also have rugs by the door and near a sitting area or something.

for paint, you could do what i did for my room.  three of my walls are a light tan color and i have one wall that's a nice dark red (the wall where my desk is).

got a pic at all?

it's more the installation cost which will blow it out. I'm already looking at like $1600 for the floating floor, tiles would be like $2600 because someone else has to tile them

put some nice plain wallpaper over those brick walls and then paint it white.

cover up a brick wall? no way! that's going to be my bar area, it needs to stay brick

Which brick wall? The red one or the white one?

the one that i painted white is a block wall. The brick wall is the coloured one, which is actual bricks. I'll probably turn that into a little bar area (which are usually bricked)

seems like kindve an awk place for a bar imo, especially if that door on the side with the window opens in

it'd be small but i dont think it'd be awkward. even with the arc of that door, there's still enough room for at least a two person bar by my measurements

what do you reckon i should do with that space though? it's sort of just an awkward corner in general

I think a bar should be able to fit, my brother has one a bit smaller and it's still all right.

not sure if it would go with the colour of floor i want, or if i'd have to go darker

That looks nice, Maybe a slightly darker oak wood floor.
