New Balance makes really durable shoes, which aren't too expensive. I think they can be used for skating too.

You're not paying for quality with Nikes, you're paying for a brand. Some are comfortable, yes, but you can get shoes that are equally comfortable and durable (if not more so) for easily half the price.

totally disagree, i alway buy nike for football because they are way more comfortable, dont tear/rip easily, and can fit basically any foot type. i could get the same thing with a different brand, but at a much higher price.

Etnies are pretty good. DC has some great shoes if you look hard enough. My current pair of DCs have lasted a long ass time, and just recently got their first rip.

I have a bad taste in my mouth from emericas. I got the provost and I had a huge loving hole on the gum from a day of skating. I was like "no loving way".

It's like a brand of clothing, only that you wear it on your feet instead of on your torso or legs. You wear it because you either like it or want to look cool, or you just collect it because you enjoy the brand i guess.
