Author Topic: Help me with my window colors. (VISTA)  (Read 521 times)

Okay, I want the color of my windows to be black, but I don't want to mess with "Windows Aero" or "Windows Standard" themes, because those are stuff. I like "Vista Basic" and I wanna stick with it.

The only problem with "Vista Basic" is that it has a black taskbar, but the window colors are a light blue. I'm sick of it, and I want it to change, so here I am.

Another thing to note is that a simple Google search didn't help, so that's the only reason I'm posting here.

I've made an image to elaborate on my desires.

inb6 vista's ur problm

click on windows 7 under aero themes
wait stuff, you're using vista
What version of vista do you have

I don't think you read the post thoroughly.

I'm using VISTA, and want to use the VISTA BASIC THEME, but I want to change the color of the window.

Yeah, I'm using Ultimate.

Yep, that's an answer alright.

Delete Vista.

Trust me man, I've tried all of those settings. You either get Aero, which is like Vista Basic, except the colors are forgeted to hell and you can't get the right hues unless you go transparent which is forget, or you get Windows Standard, which I was willing to work with but it screwed the taskbar up so forget that.

Vista Basic is the most aesthetically pleasing theme with the exception of not being able to change the color of the windows, despite the fact that the advanced appearance menu gives you the option to do so. Doesn't change a thing.

Alright, well, with some System tweaks, I was able to get as close as I could to what I wanted. I'll just have to live with sub-standard black/grey.
