Author Topic: How do i control my dog?  (Read 1076 times)

I have a laborrador and a Chihuahua. I was outside riding my bike when the wind blows open my house door, so my two dogs went inside even though they aren't supposed to. The little one got out but the big one didn't want to leave, so my mom threw a bunch of bread pieces outside so that they got out. They both got as much pieces as possible. My laborrador finished his pieces first so he attacks my little dog to try to steal his bread. Of course my little dog tried to get it back by barking at him. They started fighting and then my laborrador took his bread and ate it then ran. My Chihuahua ran after him and tried to fight him then my laborrador went crazy and bit my Chihuahua around his nose and now he is bleeding. I yelled at my lavorrador and then smacked him then he growlled really loud and barked at me then tried to bite me. I was lucky to have my bike with me so I put my bike in his way so that he couldn't bite me. He went to the other side of my back yard then I locked him in before he could notice. How do I control my dog? He's doesn't listen to me or anyone anymore and poops in my moms garden and steals my little dogs food whenever he gets the chance. He's getting on my nerves and I want to get rid of him but I don't know how.

How could I control him or get him to stop?

go to your local pet store and ask or use something called google and use yahoo answers

you gotta beat them. it DOES work.

or just spend lots of time and money taking them to classes and making yourself feel handicapped about it.

Animal abuse or animal neglect, is the human infliction of suffering or harm upon non-human animals, for purposes other than self-defense or survival.
I've seen you post some pretty stupid stuff. I think this sets a record though.

No really, you have to punish that dog.

When he poops in your mother's garden, slap him and yell at him.

When he messes with your other dog, slap him and yell at him, and keep saying "bad boy, bad!"

If he keeps doing it, bring the dog to obedience school.

Zeallot, it's like saying "If you hit your son without fatally hurting them, that's child abuse. We have to let them be bad and no physical contact what so ever. Your son is a brat and doesn't listen to you? Don't hit him!"

I'm not sure what's wrong with you guys. You don't "slap" a dog. You should yell at them or put them outside but you don't want them to be scared of your hands in the future when you want to play with them.

if you do it properly then the dog won't be afraid of you
also putting it outside won't have any affect on a medium to large size dog since they're made for the outside

You don't hit the dog with a loving whip, you shove him and don't give him any love.

kill him

or beat him like the others said

When bisjac says "beat" he doesn't mean beating the dog until it bleeds. He means that you need to spank the dog. A spank is nowhere near the levels of cruel. Giving a dog some tussle when it acts up is going to get your point across. Throwing him outside isn't going to do stuff.

You're way too sensitive dude.

yeah i bitch smacked my cat every time she chows on plants.
she hasnt done it in long ass time now.

animals only know rewards and punishments. they dont wait for your reasoning and words like a child can.

feeding them bread was basically rewarding them for going inside. If they break rules that you set, grab them by the snout, and make them look into your face. Said "no" sternly and have everyone ignore them for the rest of the day. No petting, no treats, and no bread.

This will only work if you get them RIGHT after they break a rule

dogs get scared as forget when you force them to make close eye contact with you.
you gotta put on a mad face and yell at them. and smack em!

they gotta fear doing things that they can clearly see you hate.

It looks like you need to teach these two dogs simple obedience, another option is to get an animal behaviorist if you or your parents can't do it.
