I made a dump of stuff I'll prolly never get to finishing and will end up scrapped. Please note that some transitions/mixings will be rough due to the fact they are not complete.

I'm thinking of getting a launchpad and using it in a live setup along with IL remote for performing some deep house or Detroit techno.

I've looked heavily in to the MS20 mini but it really seems a bit too far out my price range, I have a midi keyboard but i'm looking for something different, this was really just a cheap fill-in to start out with and i'm selling that as well as a few other bits and bobs to save up a bit of money. Definitely something brown townogue is what i'm looking for and the ms20 mini is something i'm going to work towards maybe next year, starting a college here in the uk for electronic music later this year and a lot of my savings are being spent towards moving house near the location of the college so i'm going to say £300 is really my absolute limit with what i can spend on something until next year so i'd like something until then to experiment with and also learn more about different oscillators/waves and such

edit: £300 is about $500
roland jp8000 (very nice yes)
arturia minibrute (very cheap yes)
polivoks (its all in russian and may use a strange power protocol though idk)
roland  juno 106 (classic)
yamaha dx 7 (digital synthesis though, massive pussies use this)
xoxbox (or a tb 3 when they come out, both good for bass/acid)
or since you already have a keyboard you could look at the wide variety of synths with poorly done keyboards and MIDI outs, so you can use the keyboard you already have instead of the touchpad one or whatever it is like:
korg volcakeys
korg volcabass
and if you found a way to convert cv signals to midi you could buy many more synths that would be reaaaaaalllyy cheap (im talking 20 dollar cheap), but they aren't as versatile as the one's i first listed

good luck buddy

(helpful stuff)

thanks a lot for this man, really helped out

So, who here has a launchpad, and was it worth the buy?

So, who here has a launchpad, and was it worth the buy?

Yes, and yes. Very yes.

So, who here has a launchpad, and was it worth the buy?
yes, i own one, some of the things that people don't tell you about the launchpad is that it not only has a usb cable, but also a kensington lock port on the top, useless, but at first it looked like an alternate smaller usb port to me. the buttons on the top face of the launchpad look to be made (and work) the same way that a conventional drum machine (such as an mpc) would work, just tap the pad and it will work, this is not the case. the pads are actually all buttons made of rubber, you need to push them down for them to register, not fully but only a bit. there are also little extra bits of rubber on the 2nd row 2nd column pad, 3rd row 3rd column pad, and if you mirror those pads, those will be the rubber bits at the top half, and if you flip it, you will know where all of the raised rubber buttons are, i'm fairly sure they are there for people not looking at the launchpad to know where their fingers are. i find that the launchpad works better in fl studio than it does in ableton. you can have many more controls in fl studio on the launchpad than in ableton. i also find that the launchpad is extremely overrused, maybe look into getting an APC40 or an APC20?

If you have Ableton (or plan on getting ableton) a Launchpad can be really useful for launching clips and stuff (hence its name), but if you want something more like a drum machine or if you're using like FL studio, maybe consider something else.

But yeah, they're really neat and fun. Great buy.

I have a tight budget :(
I was considering that though.

FL actually recently added features giving it better launchpad support.
