Does anyone even use cubase anymore

Thanks.

It helps that I finally figured out how to flippin' master my tracks, lol.
Couple months ago i had no idea what mastering was. lol. I love it when you get that sense of really discovering something big about how to make your creations sound better

Yes. Misha Mansoor of Periphery uses it when demoing for the band or recording for his own personal use. I actually think it looks a lot cleaner than a whole lot of other DAWs.

So glad this topic's alive again. :)

Have you seen REAPER? It's pretty clean, but it also gives you the bare minimum to work with, unlike Ableton, Logic, Reason, FL Studio, etc.

It seems to be a generic thing to say now but i'm seriously looking forward to bitwig

What's that? Also, do you think this is high enough quality for a potential demo to Audioland?

It got good reviews here on the forums...

That'd be awesome, thanks! I'll see about sending that one and my new EP their way after it's done. And I think I've heard of Bitwig or at least some other DAW that allows real-time collabs. That would be so epic. :o

Speaking of the EP, here's what I hope to be the final revision of "Wreckless". I don't want to release this EP if it sounds like crap to other people, so can you music junkies give it a listen and give me some feedback? This is probably the longest I've worked on a piece, and I think it paid off. I hope to get "Caves" finished up tomorrow.

Also, how's the art? Done 100% by hand by me. :)

Does anybody else here struggle with serious midi latency from a USB connection? I have my microkorg connected to my laptop via a USB 2.0 to MIDI-in/out cable (M-Audio Uno) and there's like a 500ms delay from when I press a key to when it registers in Ableton, or when I send MIDI information from Ableton to the Microkorg to record the audio.
It's really annoying.

Ideally I would like to save up for a decent desktop build with a firewire port and a legit MIDI interface, but right now I've got this.

Nah, I've got a nanoKEY, using a computer from 2008, no lag.

Could be sound driver latency, FL Studio uses a program called ASIO4All to get feedback directly from the sound driver, avoiding useless processes.
When using default speaker output, i get about 500ms delay, but ASIO4All fixes it. Select ASIO4All as your output for Ableton.

I discovered OpenMPT recently and have found it's an extremely useful tool for making SNES-style music.

I have also fallen in love with the .it file format.

I don't like ASIO4All because it seems to cut the low ends of my sound.

You and A.P.X. have such similar avatars at first glance that I was confused why you were replying to yourself with a contradictory opinion lol

Anyways, thanks for the suggestion APX, but I'm using an external sound card as my input/output for audio already. I'm not sure if using ASIO4All would do anything/is possible to use on top of it

not to mention most of the latency is from the midi channels anyways

Guys, seriously, I need feedback. I don't wanna release this if it sounds like crap. ;-;
