Author Topic: Hijacked Keys?  (Read 5661 times)

oh right, the dead guy
wait he was the guy who died and then faked being his father, right? no wait no he didn't

yes. any freedom to track usage of keys by the general users would encourage key sharing.
people can see what's currently in use before they log on.
knowing your friend can't get away with sharing your key with yet another person, gives you insurance to let him continue using it.

if not for purposely sharing, then there is really no reason to know who uses your key, as you should prevent it from happening anyways. serves no use.

Solution. Don't be an idiot.

Badspot might remember a long time ago when my IRL friend "trolled me"by taking my key off my email. (Which i accidentally left on his computer logged in)

I'm not friend with him anymore. Because it got my original key deactivated in the process.

What do i do now? I'm extremely careful about my key. And nothing bad has happened since.

it seems like very few people have the balls to use their original name after they've forgeted up.

Raven and Boomerangdog are indeed the same person. Also, as Allun confirmed on the last page, Betel did use Allun's key. So has Raven, I know this for a fact.

so pass is raven??

Relating to this subject, Hammereditor has access to all of his customer's keys through Hamhost. So if you have that service, it would be better if you delete your key from his serivce asap, no one knows if he is going to hijack any of the keys yet. All of his keys did get revoked, so he could be heading towards stealing some keys. Hopefully he didn't create backups of the key.dat files yet. Who knows what Hammereditor is going to do next, it's sorta scary.

Does he seriously have the capability to steal keys like that?

That's insane. Giving your key to any service other than RTB is a HUGE risk.

hammereditor is not skilled enough to recover keys from key.dat files.
i can say this with certainty thanks to his actions these past few weeks.
