Agreed.

Seems like there's been a lot of pet deaths on the forums recently.

I don't mean to contribute, I just thought I'd share this amazing cat with you guys.

fluffy kitty :(
fluffy kittens are the best omg
:(

He was bigger than an average house cat even when he was a kitten. :3

Aw man, I know what it's like to lose a close pet. I'm sorry.

Thanks man, it's alright now. My dad's having a hard time because of how close he was to him, though. He was our garden cat; he'd run around the garden while my dad was working and would watch birds. You'd think he's some sort of royal cat given that he's a pure white Maine Coon, but oh boy he was just as crazy outside as any other cat would be.

Thanks for all the support guys, I just woke up (at 2PM, yes) and went to say my final goodbyes to him and buried him. It was cool though because one of my other cats was laying on top of his (covered) body and acted like she was protecting him until we were ready to bury him. I think the rest of the cats know what happened and are trying to comfort us.

I'm sorry OP. It happened to me when I was 4. My cat Ginger, who we had for years before I was born, ran away when my mom came home from work one day. My aunt, who lived down the street back then, called us and said that Ginger was lying on the street. She was hit by a car. I remember crying for days trying to forget it but I couldn't. It's one of the only memories that I have of the time back then.

Something similar happened to one of my other cats a long time ago. Except he landed up on my neighbor's porch, covered in maggots, we brought him in and cleaned him up but for reasons I don't understand, apparently it was too late for him. However, I remember him meowing strongly which showed he could have still lived if we would have just taken him to the vet. I don't understand why we didn't but we didn't. Instead my dad decided to put him out of his misery by shooting him in the head in his grave. I just don't understand. lol

This is a probably a bad place to put this but I was at my cousin's house in Illinois like five or more years ago.  I was playing some tag game with him and his family and other cousins and I saw his dog just laying on the ground moving it's head up and down.  I walked over and the dog had a dead kitten in its mouth and was chewing on it.  Mortified, I went and got him and he flung it into a neighbor's field with a shovel.  That's capable of scarring some people lol

uhhh

a cat meowing isn't an indicator of its health..

Yeah, it could mean severe pain too.

Meowing indicates that its body still hasn't started shutting down because if it did, the cat wouldn't meow at all if it were in the critical stages. It could have gotten help. Besides, if it can meow, it can breathe, even if slightly.

I've experienced too many cats' deaths. It really sucks I know.
