well the comics store i was at was throwing out a monitor so i snagged it on my way out the parking lot
but yeah i find all kinds of electronics on the side of the road

i didn't really intend to fix it, one of my teachers at school gave it to me and told me i could do what i wanted with it

CRTs have flyback transformers which can be used for quite a few things, but don't shock yourself.

I really doubt this, considering it probably hasn't been plugged in for quite some time.

I also would never pick up things that have big voids in them like a monitor from outside. I could see them being filled with bugs and flees and what not. With this CRT don't waste it. Keep the cathode ray tube and make a bangin arc speaker

one of the computers i found in my garage had a giant wasp nest inside
when i opened it and saw it i like freaked the forget out but luckily it was abandoned

All this reminds me of all the aspirations I had with my group of friends to take apart our old computers and make one with all the different parts. Of course none of that ever happened and now we don't even talk. Life can be so cruel.

they had like, just set the monitor outside before i took it
and i don't waste the tubes, i still have the one from my earlier project lying around in the garage

dude i'm like super paranoid about everything
if there was even a chance of me getting shocked i'd be like "dad come do this for me"
