Author Topic: ok how the forget do I remove conduit  (Read 1008 times)

it's not on my control panel/chrome settings anything

but yet whenever I go into a new tab it still opens the loving thing

and I can't find the option in chrome to change it

I've tried using some adware removal stuff but none of it works and I keep hearing a low quality phone ring every ~20 mins

I'm not sure if the phone ring is connected to conduit but I haven't heard the sound since this stuff started

Try CCleaner, Malwarebytes, and the Avast! Adware clean up software

File/ Tools>Internet options>[Enter URL of chosen browser]

should work... Maybe

I did a full scan with Malwarebytes, worked very well.

I know how to solve this. It happened and worked for me.

The conduit is still set as your default home page. So, just set a new home page. You said it happens when you try to open a new tab, right?

my homepage is still set to google, though

Some adware/malware/etc sets the desktop/taskbar shortcuts to open certain pages automatically instead of your homepage. Delete and re-create whatever web browser shortcuts you have, or just right click on them, select properties, and see if there's any flags set to open certain pages in the "Target" field. It should be something like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe", if there's any other junk in there, remove it.
