so many people say "delete the mlp megathread and the furry megathread and all the megathreads for things i dont like!!! >:("
but would that really be an improvement
megathreads are there so all discussion of a specific thing can be contained in just one thread instead of being all over the forums - at least, that's often why they're made
deleting the megathreads would probably just cause everyone who posted in those megathreads to start discussing it more in other threads, or making more threads about it, and so on
especially since whenever someone makes a thread about something that already has a megathread people will usually tell them to go to the megathread, but if there's no megathread, you can't tell them to go to it
so it wouldn't result in discussion of whatever thing ending completely, it'd cause it to spread throughout the whole forums, and i'd assume if you hated a thing so much you didn't even want people to talk about it where you can't see it you wouldn't want it everywhere
but then again if you were an admin in the first place you could just ban everyone who regularly posted in the threads so i guess everything i said doesn't matter
