Author Topic: Help! Should I take this job??  (Read 2658 times)

Okay to start off let me explain my current position. I am 18 living in the outskirts of London and have finished all my education. I have no job but I do have a savings account with £2500 (about $2750)

I just went to a job interview as a surveyer. The job is walking around town with a clipboard getting women to fill out a survey. The job has no steady pay, I would recieve £1 for every surey filled out ($1.25)
I am not desperate for money, but I do need a job. I have already been given the job but if I chose to accept, my manager would be a man the same age as me, who thinks he is ballin' and is a bit of a ballbag.
The thing is, I could get a job with a steadier pay and not walking around in the town in the cold, asking people to do surveys, which let's face it, is a degrading job. The people in the interview were all mainly idiots and I left early saying I had something else to do.

Really not sure what I should do, should I take this job or not? I think it's worth mentioning that my father also gives me £77 a month (about $100) which I spend on alcohol, drugs and ciggeretts.
Next year I plan to move to New Zealand with my best friend and live out there, which I will have enough for. What should I do?!

Options:
-Take the job, face humiliation for little money in the cold
-look for a new job, working in retail
-sloth away in my bedroom on blockland and GTA until I go to New Zealand and sell things on eBay.

Take the job
If you get enough people you can get lodsemone

Use the money you use on alcohol, drugs and cigarettes on something better.

Use the money you use on alcohol, drugs and cigarettes on something better.
there is nothing better.

Find some other job. That pay is stuff and it isn't even steady.

i suggest retail, that pay is not good

find another job
Use the money you use on alcohol, drugs and cigarettes on something more important

Stop buying drugs and stuff, take the job, and use your money for other things and move sooner or something, or just save up. Chances are you'll be glad you quit and be happy you have the extra money.

The job sounds stuff so either don't get it at all or get it and keep looking for a job, also, getting a visa to live in NZ isn't easy.

Only 1.25$ a survey? People don't even do those, and you lose all respect for being a surveyor. Find a real job.

Don't do that, everyone hates people who ask you to fill out stuff, and unless you can get 1000 people to fill that out per month it's not worth it

there is nothing better.
Maybe you could save it up and not be such a low life.

You can get better jobs if you're not some poor junkie.
