Author Topic: Do you have a religion?  (Read 12422 times)

I have a religion class.

Well the mocking is better than people cussing and using caps :D

You guys don't have to believe in him. He doesn't force you, no one can. If you don't wish to receive the word of God, don't. The word of God is for the people who believe and want to change.

I certainly want to change but I don't want a superbeing helping me with change. Stop spewing stuff that seems "neutral" but makes it so there is a God.

wow

The worst part is when someone says "Oh, I'm Christian, because I believe that God can help people get through hard times" the response here isn't respectful like it should be, the response is immediately "WELL GOD ISN'T REAL AND HE DOESN'T HELP STARVING KIDS IN AFRICA GET FOOD!!!!!!"
Yes, this so much.  In this case, I disagree with that person's social shortcomings, not their beliefs.

I didn't say Christians didnt lust or greed or do any sin at all. Like I said we sin everyday from anything, but we have to constantly asking for our sins to be forgiven for anything (it's in our nature)
What good does that actually do though? Like, even making a pledge to 'be greedy for 5 less minutes a day' will do more than just asking God for forgiveness. Wouldn't it make more sense from a moral perspective to just make the choice to be less greedy, instead of repenting every time you are greedy?

Well yes, that is what you should do, but most Christians use "God's forgiveness" as some kind of excuse, which to me is like buying booze off of welfare.

Um, this is a religion thread

God is like compared to the air. You can feel it, but cannot see it. That's how God is c:
don't pull this stuff

Agnostic but leaning a bit towards Atheism.

what did you expect to see in this thread?

This whole topic is a train-wreck because religion wars.

No, it's a train wreck because atheist asswipes like you come in here and discount every religion that someone brings up.

I'm sorry, but I'm rereading the thread and not seeing that anywhere. Chubaka is being a little bit too preachy, and people are defending their faith. Yes, it's an argument. No, I don't think it's good. I, however, would not blame it on the atheists.
