Like with what?  Logic bricks?  Binary using Relays and ToggleEventEnabled/SetEventEnabled?
Using Default Events.

i think VCE is such a well known add-on that you might consider letting it slide along with default events.

i mean it's totally possible with default events alone, i've made at least two or three computer-ish things with them, but VCE allows for much more than you could ever with only default.

you do realize that VCE is private now, so when, and if, we ever plan to release the publicly, they might not be able to use it correctly because they don't have the events

I may allow VCE builds on my server, as a special. But will definitely allow logic bricks only on my server. I don't know about Cat's server.

Please welcome our newest member, Eagle517. Excellent in Designing.

I think you, and everyone else, should seriously just drop this concept of making a computer out of events and use the logic bricks mod instead or something similar.

Honestly, it would be so much easier to understand for others and can be compared to real world examples, since logic bricks are real components.
I talked to the creator a while ago and he/she said that you could theoretically replicate an 8080 Intel processor with this mod.

And with making a processor, you could write programs for them just as you would with a real microprocessor.

And the great thing is, is that the schematics are already out there; just re-create it following a logic block diagram.
Or you could design your own CPU, which is what I attempted to do on numerous occasions but failed due to lack of planning and serious determination.

Not only computers can be made, don't forget that. There's basically limitless stuff you can do with logic bricks, so don't center your clan around computers.

Again, I want to re-emphasize the point of not using events for computers; I've watched so many clans saying how they'll make computers out of events, etc.
It simply won't work, or if it does will be very custom-built and will have to be laboriously programmed for the simplest of tasks. I can't explain in technical details why because of my lack of English, but trust me, the events system is just too... limited.
A good way of putting this is and understanding what I'm trying to say is by putting the event system side by side with a program called Scratch.

The only real "computer", or rather digital appliance which used events was IcyGamma's(?) Hard drive, which read data by asking each brick how many times it was hit by a projectile. But this system relied on physical dependencies (the pong), and isn't really so much an event driven appliance (although still very impressive).

A good way of understanding logic bricks in this mod is by spending some time playing around in a program called Logisim:

that whole post seems to suggest that events are so useless that they can't even be used in conjunction with logic bricks. probably not what you're going for, though, so anyways;

honestly, an explanation isn't needed. the efficiency of events in blockland are so mindblowingly low compared to the efficiency of real-world, modern day computers, and anyone who has attempted to make a computer in BL knows pretty well how difficult it truly is. so i do agree.

however, by saying "events system" you seem to be directly addressing the entire eventing system, which is entirely modifiable and still an essential part of any complex "computer" created in blockland.

i don't disagree that logic bricks are useful, though i personally have still been trying to get a grasp on them; my only complaint is about how much your post puts down events. you seem to be suggesting that the less amount of events used, the more like a real computer it would be, and that doesn't seem right.

I am sorry about how you feel about our clan, but this is your opinion. Granted that, i think it is something nice to do to take boredom out and just able to put time into something. Also, we are not looking forward as to going THAT far yet. Maybe in the future, but as of right now, it is impossible. I know it may be possible to do such complex things, but we will not look forward to that yet. This clan is just focused on the main part on building a quote on quote, computer. We do not mean an ACTUAL computer. If you looked at what we are doing, then you would see. Although the concept of making a computer on Blockland is very possible with the use of logic bricks, i have not learned that much to do so. So please, think before you say such a comment. We also plan to build things not related to computers. That is our goal though, to make a computer together. Maybe i should update our goal. But other than that, i do not appreciate your feedback. But, thanks anyways.

He does usher a point, i'll experiment with logic bricks and logism later today, but this is predominately based on my perception of people in Minecraft making quite compelling redstone inventions... I guess.

Unsurprisingly enough I badly conveyed my opinion of events.

I'm not trying to bash them, or degrade them to being completely inferior and useless. now that I read my post a day later I can see that I went overboard with the whole post.
However my point still stands that they aren't very suitable for computers because of their lack of expandability. Again, I can't really phrase what I want to say...

It just never seemed right to me to make a computer which is programmable for any task to be made of events. There isn't any way to structure it, and even if there is it's much easier to do so with a concept which has been refined for decades in real life.

Of course, this may only apply to computers specifically. And if I sound like it, I'm not forcing anyone to use this mod full-time. Just trying to point out the implications behind computer design and creation with events.

It's difficult to read peoples emotions through text alone...

I'm not bashing on your clan, so don't be offended. I was just saying what I thought about the process of making computers. Either way, now that you've decided not to be centered around computers, my point isn't really that relevant anymore.

Also, if you guys decide to use logic bricks in this clan I would totally join and see what I can do. I might not be very active, but after school I usually have some leisure time.

Logic bricks are available on mine and cat's (I think) server.
I plan on using them, i don't know about cat. (Well, i am currently still experimenting with Logic bricks)
