Author Topic: Am i allowed to post how to get v20?  (Read 3844 times)

No you are not.  Running the old version fragments the userbase and leads to unjoinable entries in the master server creating a public nuisance.  Also, running executables posted by random forum jerks is a bad idea.

Minecraft has millions of users, so it doesn't matter if the userbase is massively fragmented.
Minecraft does not have a server browser, so old versions do not crap up the server list with unjoinable entries.
Welp there's your answer

It would seem incredibly disrespectful to try and help people circumvent using the newer version that Badspot and Kompressor spent months trying to get out to us because of a petty lack of motivation to build oneself a map.
"I'm Taboo and I think everyone who uses maps is too lazy to build a map"

"I'm Taboo and I think everyone who uses maps is too lazy to build a map"
ignoring how you couldn't have possibly approached that in a way more resemblant of a five year old, i can't think of any reason to use a map other than laziness

I think needlessly casting the love of maps as laziness is "resemblant of a five year old" because you're ignoring the actual reasons and speaking based on popular opinion.

which are...
Terrain can make large spaces of mountainous areas that are actually traversable by vehicles.
Terrain can make real-looking landscapes.
Terrain can save a ton of time by not forcing you to place tiny bricks.

Yes, terrain could have been and should be improved.

* Removes maps
* Still uses them in advertisement for Greenlight.

Logic.

I used to love them because you could use them for a basic wall of where you can build. Terrains take forever to build if you want them to look decent.

"saving time" when the game revolves around spending time is kinda....eh.

Can't you just block entries from older versions? It's impossible to stop people from using older versions, but at the very least you could stop their online activity if it's becoming an issue.

Some players found out how to change a version variable and servers are popping up on the main list.

^That sounds like a huge loving pain in the ass. I don't blame Badspot for being pissed.

Solution: disable key if it is used with a nonrecent version.

That seems a bit harsh..

The crazies have come out of the woods...

Why does minecraft allow players to use pass versions, but on blockland it's bannable? Just general rules?
Because this game is not Minecraft
