Author Topic: Jakob's World [Mini Empires Deluxe] Might shut down.  (Read 11015 times)

This I think is the major flaws with mini empires. Usually people with godmod, saying "oh i have more armor" or "i have this and that, making it easier to kill you." We should definitely make a system in the server to make battles fair and just, like adding bonuses to empires in certain eras, etc.
Bohemia really flawed that during our war by going "oh we now have riflemen we get to roll more" and started rolling like 18 (or about 18) sided dies while I had to roll 14.

Then, whenever my ships were attacking his (mine had a lot more weaponry on it) he was like "oh i roll a 20 you roll 17"

Given i am in an entirely different era, yes, it was fair. Players in more advanced ages should definitely get a higher roll number.

Rolling a higher number = More chance of fail. Having better units and melee attacks should lower the number, increasing critical.

You actually have a pretty good chance of failing badly if you flip a coin, so lower isn't better.

Jakob you're partially right.  If you roll a lower number, you either pass or fail by smaller margins.  For instance if you roll a 1, 2 or 3, from a 3-sided die, you get 33% (fail), 67% (pass by narrow margin), and 100% (absolute victory).  Rolling a 20-sided die increases your chances of rolling something of low-end numbers, but also raises the amount of high-end numbers.  It's a trade-off.

Hmmm, think there is any way we could fix this problem?

EDIT
Nevermind, I just thought of something. Lets say that one player has gunpowder, and the other does not. The one with gunpowder would roll a say, 5 sided die while the other a 10. Lets say the gunpowder age player rolls a 1, and the archaic player also rolls a 1. Instead of both having the same amount of damage, the gunpowder player would deal a much higher amount of damage to the other player, with the other being much less.

I also have to add that ships with metal/more advanced armor, and with more advanced weaponry like cannons, would defend and attack much more effectively than a ship with medieval age technology.

Weapons = Lower Rolling. For instance, Hellstormer's special attack rolls a 1 or 2 sided die.

Defense = Higher rolling, decreases damage.

I think that is how it should go.

NEW BATTLE SYSTEM

Battle System
Yes, finally this has come out. People were right. Opponents spammed units, and hoped to get a good roll, to win the game. That has changed now. There is now an alpha stage battle system, which I hope everyone to follow to make a strategic, nice, playable game. Trying to make this more strategic as we good. First up, UNIT MOVEMENT!

Unit Movement
Unmounted Units = Moves 4 Blocks at a time.
Roll a 4 for each unit. For masses of units above 10 units, roll a 40. Example /roll 4 > Outcome is 3 > Move unit 3 blocks.

Mounted Units = Moves 8 Blocks at a time.
Roll an 8 for each unit. For masses above 10 units, roll an 80. Example. /roll 8 > Outcome is 4 > Move unit 4 blocks.

Unit Attacking
Swordsmen/Maulers/Etc - Melee
Melee units can only kill max 3 people at a time. So, roll a 4 (1 = miss). If masses above 10, do the loving math on a calculator.  Example. /roll 4 > Outcome is 1 > Miss.

Pikemen/Spearmen/Etc - Long Melee
These long melee units can only kill a max of 5 people at a time. So roll a 6, (1 = miss). If masses above 10, do the above. Example. /roll 6 > Outcome is 3 > 2 die.

Archers/Crossbowmen - Ranged
These archers can only kill a max of 1 unit at a time. So roll a 2. Once again, do the math. Example. /roll 2 > Outcome is 2 > 1 Murdered horribly with an arrow to the knee.

Unit Ranges

Melee = 1 block range. Melee units must be right up against (lovey) the unit to attack it.

Long Melee = 3 block range.

Archers = 8 block range.

Crossbowmen(women) = 12 block range.

So that is basically it. Please follow these rules, if you don't an admin will eat you. Thanks!

Yes, bump bump. Anyways, could someone make the tech tree?
