Author Topic: WiiU or PS3?  (Read 1966 times)

It's almost Christmas time and I have a decision to make. I've never owned a console before except a Gamecube. I (my parents) can't afford a high end computer, so I've decided on a console. My mother and I went down to Walmart and looked at some TV's and the such. We found a nice TV but they were out of stock on the PS3 and the WiiU. They had a WiiU on display so I gave it a try for kicks and I really liked it. Problem is, all my friends have PS3 and I don't think WiiU has multiplayer (internet multiplayer). I also like FPS games such as COD and BF. There are factors on the WiiU side as well, such as me being a Metroid and Zelda fanboy (attributed to me having a Gamecube for 7+ years).

So I came here like any sane person would do to get your opinion on the matter. Should I get a PS3 or WiiU? Which one do you guys own?

uh...what exactly makes you think the Wii U does't have online multiplayer when the Wii had it?

:(

WiiU has internet multiplayer, and if you like shooters, Mass Effect 3 is already out on it. Ps3 is already last-gen, and nintendo consoles always have great games from nintendo. Go for it!

ps3. theres not that much going for the wii u to be honest. i don't have either but i've looked at both.

or you could get a wii mini (which has almost the same games, a little less i suppose) which is $99 and still get a ps3

and if you really like zelda & games like that get a 3ds. it has some (heavily downgraded) games like resident evil and cod.

I own both, but I play the WiiU a lot more since it has some of my favorite games on it and it does have internet multiplayer. So go with the WiiU

I always thought the Wii franchise was aimed towards you having people in your house throwing remotes at your TV.

They actually had the Wii Mini in stock (I could see it behind the glass case), but I really liked the WiiU because of the tablet aspect.

ps3, its better in every aspect

Wii U just got an HD remake of wind waker, and it has some really nice games like monster hunter 3, scribblenauts unmasked, pikmen 3 and Super Mario 3D World just got released and has really great reviews - rated 94 on metacritic so far. Go for it!

yes indeed the wii u's tablet aspect is a good idea. i know people who have a wii u and its great for zombie games, but it's a bit distracting in fast-paced games. take a look at the games on wii u, if they don't look any better than the wii mini i would just get the wii

Wii U for the awesome exclusives and other new games

WiiU actually has a tad better graphics.

They had game demos on the WiiU such as Sanic and WW HD (This is why I asked if it was in stock). There were a bunch of others but I didn't feel like trying it out (because I was asking if it was in stock, lol).
