Illegal immigrants should be sent back home or given the option to take a citizenship test that is composed of basic American history, English and math.

I'm pretty sure we already do this. The reason we have so many illegal immigrants still is because the immigration process takes an unreasonable amount of time and it's overly difficult to get citizenship. I'm not saying we should allow everyone in, but the process should be changed so it's much faster and efficient.

Well, being a guy looking for a career in law enforcement I can safely say that the US deports illegal immigrants. The ones that ICE and Border Patrol catch end up getting shipped back home. Also I think the process for applying can be sped up if it is done electronically.

I would describe myself as Conservative, I am supportive of Obama, gay marriage should be legal in all states, chemical harvest enhancers should not be used in farms, Obamacare is a good idea, not rolled out properly, illegal immigrants who have settled down and made homes and families in the United States should be deported back to their country, Marijuana (Cannabis) use should be used for medical purposes only, In God We Trust should remain on the dollar bill, we need to cut down on military spending, large corporations should have higher taxes, Guns should be monitored, with only basic weapons such as handguns and shotguns legal, the U.S. should not get involved with Syria,  I am unhappy with the way this country is being run.

I just want to explain a few of my opinions. I think Obama Care could of been a success if it was explained properly and wasn't as complicated, I don't believe in using chemical harvesters or chemical-based fertilizers because of all the hormones in them which effects youth, I think it's only fair for illegal immigrants to be deported because after all - they came here illegally. We've sent back many poor Europeans back in the days because they came here illegally, and now with the rise of illegal immigrants mainly from Mexico and Central America; we feel pity. I feel pity for them too, but it is the law and we are to go by it. We shouldn't have exceptions. I also think Cannabis should only be here for medicinal usage since it has so many different properties and benefits, it would be ridiculous to just use it for your own self-pleasure. It's not right to waste something as valuable as Cannabis. It's a multi-use plant, it's medicine really. I also don't see why people are offended how we have "In God We Trust" written on our currency, and I think large corporations need to pay up their fair shares of taxes like any other business and/or citizen of this country. I also think that owning a gun is a right in this country, but it should be monitored and there should be a test you should take to see if you are psychologically and mentally fit to own a gun and use it responsibly, those are my thoughts.

Well, on some things I am pretty conservative on. What do you think I am? My friends think I am a Green Party-Independent. I also wanna clarify on what I thought on the illegal immigration thing: I think that only illegal immigrants who haven't contributed to the country should be deported, however say a mom with a kid is illegal and the mom doesn't pay taxes or work; then that boy should have that option to either stay here or go with his mother back to wherever they came from (this would be only if the child was 13 and over). When I talk about contribution, I mean doing basic work like even working at a McDonalds counts as contributing, but also paying taxes counts too.

I got those statistics from the FBI's website. That next bit is the UCR which stands for uniform crime report, which is published every year. Data is collected from each FBI jurisdiction and information reported by all the law enforcement agencies.

The reason why violent crime has decreased is unknown according The Guardian.  My guess is because we have better security(more organized police, co-operative public, better background checks), improving tolerance in our society, better background checks.  Maybe people just don't have a reason to kill each other as much, however gang violence is going up.

If you are curious about what the most common weapons are in a murder. Most of the firearms used are handguns, rather than fully automatic "assault" rifles.
