I paid $3,000 to my parents to buy their car (which they discounted hugely, was worth 16K originally), pay for all car repairs, $40-50 per week in gas, $750 every six months for car insurance, occasionally food, entertainment. Not to mention once I can actually work more I can start paying for an apartment or other living area.

So yes, I know all about that.

Well that's good at least. I figured I just tell you out of someone who learned from bad experience. I used to have tons saved up and I made purchases I didn't really need. Bought an ATV for $3,000 and a very expensive sound system to go in my car. I figured it wouldn't really add up much but with all the expenses combined I nearly drained my account. I'm fine today because I saved up enough from my job but I still regret spending so much at once.

Just make sure you watch what you buy and don't end up like me. Rebuilding your savings sucks.
