I've shot a few guns. there were two handguns, that we just temporarily got to use at a range, idk what either one of them were but one of them looked weird and had nearly no recoil. judging by a google image search I just made it was a luger. the other one was a pretty normal handgun, idk what it was called. later, we went somewhere to shoot again, and this time it was my dad's handgun which was similar to the second one, but a bit bigger, and a short revolver. also my dad's mosin nagant, which had a lot less recoil than I was expecting

Great choice, Ruger 10/22. THE gun I would have in a zombie apocolypse.

Depending on your body size/build, no recoil means either .22 or 9mm, those have the least kick because they have such low powder weight

However .22 is the most damaging to your hearing because it explodes with a sound at a frequency higher than other round types. Not really sure on the science behind it, all I know is I use ear plugs and muffs.

I was looking mostly at rifles because I don't plan on hunting anytime in the forseeable future. The next gun I get I'm planning on getting something in a .223, maybe a lever action because they look cool. They had a rifle with a revolver cylinder that I really wanted to get. It was like $600 though which was more than double my 10/22. Also .223 is way more expensive than .22 LR so that also turned me off as of now. I want to pick up a 25 rd banana clip and another 200 or so bullets before I go to the range next week though.

Yeah that's what really got me. Like the big initial price difference wasn't a huge deal, but the difference in rounds is crazy. Like I got CCI .22LR which is on the pricier side from what I've read and it was only 10.95 for 100. So $150 would get me well over a thousand rounds. I feel like anything bigger than .22LR would really limit the time I spend on a range.

I also need to go get a .50 cal ammo can for all of my ammo, probably a lock for it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Yea,  money is always a issue with these sorts of things, it could be for the best that you just upgrade your current gun before stockpiling guns

Thanks for the input bro. So insightful! But in seriousness, what have you called a banana clip called? I've heard it called a banana clip, I guess I could of said high capacity magazine. But I think banana clip paints the picture of what it looks like a bit better. So what guns do you own??
Clip is just a slang term for magazine, and for most people it kinda pisses them off to hear that (especially those on /k/ lel) It's just better to call it a magazine otherwise you'd probably make an ass out of yourself. just sayin'.

The only calibers that I have any experience with are .30 and .44 magnum.
I've fired a .44 magnum revolver (multiple shots in a row, and one shot with no earmuffs), and I honestly expected it to kick more. I've fired a .30 lever action rifle, and I was surprised at how little it kicked. I might be shooting a 12 gauge today. Any tips?

Firmly grasp it! No seriously, if you don't it'll smack you in the face or you'll end up with one hell of a bruised shoulder.

The first gun I've ever shot (not counting BB guns and such) was a 4-10 shotgun, never pulled the trigger of a loaded gun before. Hit a moving target.

Well a clip isn't just slang it is an actual separate device from the magazine used to feed the magazine more rounds.

Mine was a .44 magnum.

The defining difference between clips and magazines is the presence of a feed mechanism in a magazine, typically a spring-loaded follower, which a clip lacks.

Good call man I've never used a computer before.

You'd be surprised how many people will miss that link even though I pointed it out. This forum is NOT home of the most observant teens...

I own some rifles but my collection consists primarily of shotguns or handguns. shotguns being my favorite.

I've never fired a gun, which is unfortunate. I think I'm too young in the state of California.

Usually the worst place to own one.
