forget forget forget if i had time on friday i would join this

can i be like a reserve frigate pilot

also i know you keep saying "basically all you have to do is fly in and the ai handles the rest" but is there anything to do besides that?

what are the technical specifications of mass, thrust, rotation speeds, and shields for all the ships?

do you have an even smaller fighter for SUPER ANNOYING BUZZING BEE attacks?

the fighters can be mounted and flown in on the bigger ships, right? we won't be flying solo?

Well you have the two forward guns that you shoot, they're shotgun AMCs and you can also shoot shotgun missile pods out of them. So basically the shooting is pretty simple and straightforward. The power system on the Fire Lilly frigate is extremely efficient and you'll never have power problems. On the Battleplatform and on the Apex you have to manage power vs engines vs weapons and it's a tad more complicated.

The only other systems you have to worry about on a Frigate are the radar jamming and drone systems. You just have to know how to deploy your drones and activate the radar jammer when you come under heavy fire from turrets.

Negative. The Fire Lilly and Magiliene are not aircraft carriers. The fighters will be mounted on our space station and will follow the fleet when they move out.

i asked like 3 more questions

here's another: what if you had a guy just listening to teamspeak and transcribing orders to the rest of the group in case someone can't be on teamspeak or whatever

I'll get a vent server up for you guys...

We should do like a rehearsal so people with the large ships know not to turn suddenly and jam/bump other smaller ships around them. I remember that being a huge problem when I played.

curious: can large ships basically just crash into space stations to suck up damage and make the stations effectively useless?

E: ... while little ships do damage

No, ship collision does not deal damage to stations with shields. Kamikaze tactics don't work at all.

no no no i mean like if it just sits there cutting off the enemies attack

they can't shoot through it, so there's a major blind spot for a bunch of little ships to come in

The ships that will have the most problem with turrets will be the frigates, but they have Radar Jammers and drones. If they activate their radar jammer it'll cause all the turrets to switch targets to something else, which will hopefully be a fighter or battleplatform.

Battleplatforms will have to suck up the bulk of the damage, and fighters can simply avoid turret fire altogether. For the fighter pilots it'll be all about their individual skill as a pilot.

too lovey

And the game is /free/ god I love it

Formidable fleet, only if it could remove Seph.

I really wanna help out and watch but I honestly am not worth stuff as a pilot, I finished the tutorial on single player, used admin commands to grant materials, made what I thought was a fairly large fighter, and still got my ass kicked by 5 pirates

Take me off the fighter list, if you want good pilots I don't fit that requirement. Maybe a battle platform would be better? Soak up damage and dish as much hurt as possible right?

General question: could you technically make a ship mount on a mothership, and load said smaller ship with an AI set to collide into an enemy, explosive ordinance, shields and thrusters to make a mini-nuke?
I've yet to test this myself out of frustration but I tried making something like this. (Didn't work, blew myself up, rage quit, played BL instead.)
