But issues with the SSD which won't be a huge deal unless you super picky.  You won't see it's true performance on SATA II as you would with a SATA III motherboard.  You will still get up to 300 Mbps nonetheless which will do the job.

The thing with these speeds is that while you're correct in theory. Real world applications of an SSD already makes a barely noticeable difference. When I replace my SSD i'm stepping down to a 64gb one because I noticed the intel caching actually made a nice difference though. But really an SSD is like one  of the last things you should upgrade on a computer.

I have a 128gb in my system using a gigabyte motherboard similar to his.  I like to boot my OS and any other major applications from it but I have an external HDD I use for smaller stuff that doesn't need to be on the SSD.  It reads at 190 Mbps and writes at 180 Mbps so it's not slow at all.

I know it's faster, the difference doesn't justify the price. I save a couple seconds on some stuff, I really don't see that being worth atleast $100. SATA III over SATA II would make an even more insignificant difference.
