Yeah a MIDI sequence would probably be the best option to do this kind of stuff because manually setting it all up in a video editor seems painstakingly hard

some video editors like sony vegas isn't too hard to use in order to sync things

you can adjust timescale for the sounds as well as have multiple audio tracks, and have some basic sound adjustment tools
