Author Topic: RIP - My old HP desktop  (Read 1055 times)

Well, it seems as if my HP desktop has bit the dust. I went up to my bedroom, and walked back downstairs to find my computer tower making a lot of noise. I restarted it, and lo and behold: Nothing happened on the monitor whatsoever. I am unsure of how to fix this problem.
Computer model: HP p6510y
Monitor: ??? Samsung. 1280 x 1024 pixels.

are you sure the monitor was plugged in

are you sure the monitor was plugged in
Definitely.
Get a new computer
I don't want it to come to that sadly.

Clean out the PC, ensure everything is seated right. Check hookups.
Usually doing those will fix a PC

I don't know how that will fix it, honest. I think this is a monitor problem.

get a new monitor then??

Then the computer is fine, if it's the monitor.

You said the PC was forgeted, not the monitor?

But from where? I'd like one in 1280 x 1024.

I'm unsure, I'm not exactly Geek Squad, am I?

The laptop I am on at the moment is absolute stuff: it lags on the desktop. I'd probably have a better time on my iPhone.

Connect the monitor to the laptop and see if it comes on.

That's what I have. It's aweful. I'm getting a new monitor for Christmas.

Once you go square you can't go back.

Plug in a different monitor
