comcast is being really slow

so i noticed today that the internet in my house has been very slow, normally i get around 3.5 MB/s but today i only got up to .25 MB/s
the only notable thing i've done on my end is flash my router with custom firmware, but i don't think could be the cause, i did this a few days ago and it only started being stuffty today

Theres a few reasons

Their servers are being slow,
Your router is crapping out from the firmware or whatever.
You've gone over a cap and they slow down your internet (Mine does this too)

first is possible, my mom said that cyber monday might have something to do with it
then why would the symptoms not appear until ~2 days later?
is there a way to check?

i have comcast as well, earlier last week my internet was dropping constantly and then eventually cable, phone, and internet cut out for like an hour

mine has slowed down but hasnt cut out, yet

it got stuck halfway through
why is comcast being so stuff

i was able to check bandwidth usage, i can assure it if there is a cap i haven't hit it

I noticed mine was extremely slow today for some reason (didn't start speeding up until about 2 hours ago).  My family wasn't able to stream any shows, downloads were slow, pages took a while to load, etc

The first is probably most accurate if others are having it too, the second is also highly probable, either a your router couldn't handle it anymore (ours has done that before so we got a new one) or b it's hit like a point where it can't go on (RIP)
i'd suggest calling up comcast, ask if there servers are being slow yadda yadda,

I have verizon, so I'm not sure if that helps the case or not
