Author Topic: Fast food workers across the country rally for higher wages  (Read 10041 times)

raising minimum wage only increases inflation.
a dollar is really only worth the labor and time that is given for it.

if we keep artificiality raising the bottom line in some illusion that these workers actually will have more spending power, it will only drive the cost of goods and services up.

just like with the credit bubble. you can't be giving out more dollars if the goods/services/labor traded for those dollars isn't also increased.
that is non existent spending power with a bigger $ on the face to hide it.

yes of course so clearly some knucklehead 15 year old with no job experience at all deserves to be paid twice the minimum wage OKAY
I don't think putting together a sandwich requires any high quality experience, I know how it works because I have a buddy that's 15 and went through the processes.

1)Apply
2)If accepted you get a scheduled date for orientation
3)they show you what your job will be and how to do it
4)first couple days they help you

talk about pointless

the reason they get paid so cheaply is because anyone can--and will--do their job.

it's like labor in china

That's what a strike is.
Yes, I know but still, asking for more payment in a rude way like rioting wont really get your boss to raise your payment. So he might lose his workers right, but where would they go? It also is a terrible choice to raise it because the bosses wont have enough money to pay them within a few days/months because the resteraunt would have already run out of money to pay them due to the fact that they're paying alot more.

This so much.

What the forget?

Why would people expect high paying cash out of a part time job?
Teens are just going to replace these people's jobs if they keep being cunts.

only stupid people think the problem is that some people don't have enough money. and use a band aid of giving tnem more money in hope it fixes it.

the real issue is that money is becoming very very quickly increasingly useless.

a better solution. would be to just drop a zero off the entire USD, and we all wake up I the morning suddenly with more powerful money, without actually have been given any Lol.

its also a short term solution, but its better then mindlessly printing out bills and throwing them to the poor.

It's loving fast food, you chose to be a handicap and drop out of college to work a stuffty ass job so you could do drugs or live a generally stuffty life.

So forget you, fast food workers.
Or you could be currently in high school or college, and need a job to pay for it, and that's the only job you can get because you don't have a degree or substantial job history.

But why the forget would you need $15? Don't you have parents?

A fast food restaurant worker should NEVER be your primary source of income.

There's easily always other jobs available, unless you slacked in high school and all your electives were 'gym'.

These people are complaining about the lowest level job not paying enough, when the point of it is to build references, work experience, and earn some extra cash in high school/college.

some people don't have enough money to attend college so they're forced to work "low-tier" jobs

you can't be so stuffty to those left unfortunate

Yeah, but it's best not to depend on them.  They need to save up for retirement, and send my sister to school.

My tuition is so cheap that with minimum wage, working 15 hours a week will allow me to pay off all of my tuition AND my car.  That doesn't include increased hours for Summer/Winter Breaks.

this isn't the 1 dollar minimum wage raise we usually get every 8 years or so.
this doubles it all at once.

companies will hardly be able to keep up.
people in mass amounts will be laid off, because a raise in wages doesn't exactly help businesses suddenly earn money faster to hold a larger employee pool.

so with less profit margin and less staff to do the work.
your 1 dollar burger from McDonalds could double in price. not just a simple 15cents, whoever suggested that in this topic.

Go forget yourself. My friends dad works at McDonald's and he can barely provide for him and my friend, so forget you and your arrogance.
